The Revivalists/Houndmouth at Red Rocks

Best known for the massive hit last summer, “Wish I Knew You,” The Revivalists performed the hell out of the sold-out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. Making their way out of New Orleans, the 7-piece-plus band soaked the mountain skies with their groovy tunes that had audiences singing and dancing along.

David Shaw on lead vocals is all over the stage, bringing the massive audience to an intimate space through his crooning swagger and connective energy. The collective entirety of the band, with ripping guitarists, synths and keys for days, energetic double-drummers, an evolving brass section, and fabulous backup vocalists all put on an incredible live set. It’s no wonder why the slow but steady climb to the top is unwavering for The Revivalists. Plan on a double-headlining set next summer at Red Rocks for these guys, they can definitely bring in the crowd and put on a show.

Openers and tour mates Houndmouth had a shortened set due to power issues and have released tickets for an encore performance at Denver’s Globe Hall tonight, September 14. A show worth catching as they are eager to pull out all the stops to be sure and leave Colorado on a good note.
